The polyurethane replacement footbed with black fabric lining can be retrofitted to the Profi-Birki and replaced. It will also fit in the Super-Birki. The footbed is washable at up to 30°C.

TEXTILE CARE TIPS

Use a soft bristled toothbrush to scrub away loose dirt. Pre-treat stains with a bit of laundry detergent and allow it to absorb for at least 15 minutes. Hand wash shoes by mixing either dishwashing detergent or laundry detergent with warm water and use a soft cloth or brush to rub soapy solution onto shoes. Wipe down shoes with a clean cloth dipped in some water. Wipe with a towel to remove excess moisture, stuff shoes with paper towels and allow them to dry while avoiding direct heat or sunlight.

Determining Birkenstock size is part science and part art, but to assist you can also use the metric system. Using your largest foot measure the inner side from the tip of the toe to the end of the heal. Be as exact as possible and match the result with the Birkenstock sizing chart. For example if your measurement equaled 24.5cm then we would recommend a Birkenstock European 38. This method has proven to be fairly accurate. Use this printable chart for a better result!

For a shoe to fit perfectly, it must have the proper length and width - which is why the Birkenstock foot bed is produced in two widths.

When making your purchase, please take note of the correct width symbol: regular width for normal or sturdy feet, narrow width for slim feet. Your feet should sit embedded in the footbed, meaning that you must not be standing on either the inner or outer side of the footbed rim. In addition, you should have several millimeters of space in the heel and toe areas to allow your feet to move freely and naturally with each step you take.
